About Me
When I
was 8 years old, I learned to crochet - a potholder out of
yarn first, then a doily out of thread. I was mesmerized by
the idea of creating something beautiful. And thus began my
creative journey. Since then I have tried many crafts. Some
were fads whose popularity (and availability of supplies)
came and went. Many are traditional crafts and variations
on them. All are self-taught. Among my favorites: crochet;
counted cross-stitch; Christmas ornaments and decorations;
and quilling, the most artistically satisfying of them all.

All In The Family
Just
back from a little road trip to the grand opening of Legoland
Florida (and to visit a cousin I haven't seen in decades).
Expensive but fun, fun, fun - especially to the family member
who is a Lego aficionado. My son Dale has been playing with
and, later, collecting Legos for more than 3 decades. He has
all the monorails and trains, and so much more. And he's won
awards for original creations at various fairs and events.

Dale in
front of Legoland Florida. We'd visited Legoland California
when it first opened and again 10 years later. |
So, it
should come as no surprise that Dale also has an Etsy
shop featuring his Lego
creations (he uses his middle name and calls it
Christopher's Creations). His specialty is spherical ornaments
(he makes a round ball out of square/rectangular bricks!).
Two of them have been featured in treasuries. He also makes
jewelry - one of his pairs of earrings has also been included
in a treasury (see picture to the right).
Here's
a picture of the 12 ornament designs Dale has created so far.
He is working on a red-green-white design (and it's inverse)
and can make them (and the jewelry) in any color if he can
find the bricks.
